the cowgirl boots delima...

So my dear friends (& bridesmaids) Jamie and Jessica prompted me with an interesting idea...cowboy boots for the bridemaids. I have been struggling with bridemaids shoes, for I am not a "shoe person"... but this idea is intriguing...what do you think?! Of course adorable pictures, but we aren't cowboy-cowgirl people. It does go very well with our theme... married in a corral, hay bales to sit on, pastures/trees/mountains, rugged idaho.... i love it. Plus the nighttime could get a little cooler, and if not...they could change into flip flops at the reception?! So one more delima-what do the guys wear? I originally wanted white jack purcells....any ideas out there?! And who doesn't look good in cowboy boots anyways? Super flattering and I've always wanted an excuse to purchase some- that hopefully won't make me taller than Matt-that would be quite unacceptable to me.

  1. girls in cowboy boots are totally hot...but we aren't cowboy/western wear type of people either so i understand the desire to not come across as posers. except...i think it would be easier for girls to wear cowboy boots than heels for an outdoor wedding...right?

dude shoes? yea. i don't know anything about that stuff. my guy is picking out all that stuff :-) good luck!

  3. It depends on a lot of factors (how well do you want everything to match? Do your girls all have to buy the exact same boots, or just similar colors?) but it sounds like with the overall theme of your wedding, cowboy boots could be a great idea. They're more comfortable than heels (but the girls better wear socks with them)!

One of my bridesmaids asked me immediately after I asked her to be a bridesmaid if she could wear wellies (galoshes) because that's her footwear of choice. I told her yes, as long as they're white or silver!

  10. Thank you so much for all of your sweet comments!!
kellyann- I had the girls choose their own boots. I ended up finding mine at D&B western store/supply....they are men's boots- because they have a taller shaft (seriously, its what its called... height of the boot). There are a ton of more stylish/girly ones on zappos...some of the girls got theirs at flea markets, and then other western stores. Mens boots look just like girl's though, so don't count them out! Good luck!! And have fun planning!!
